Question:

131 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Health the number of people who are in nursing homes in County Meath who are receiving subventions from the North-Eastern Health Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Following assessment of patients by the North-Eastern Health Board three people are currently receiving subvention from the board in nursing homes in County Meath while awaiting transfer to St. Joseph's Hospital, Trim. There are 222 health board beds for elderly patients in the County Meath area and these are located in St. Joseph's Hospital, Trim. There are also 16 assessment/respite beds in St. Joseph's.
