Vol. 408 No. 1

Written Answers. - Community Welfare Service.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

137 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health the number of times a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 has been visited by the public health nurse in the last two years; the number of times the community welfare service has been in contact with this person in the same period; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The public health nurse and the community welfare officer meet this person whenever necessary. It would not be possible to indicate the exact number of occasions they have been in contact. I should add, however, that the person in question is in receipt of a carers allowance and her husband, who is in receipt of invalidity pension, attends the day centre in St. Loman's Hospital five days each week.

As I have already informed the Deputy, this case is under review at present to see if further assistance can be provided.
