Vol. 408 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Treatment.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

138 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 will be admitted to Harcourt Street Childrens' Hospital to have his adenoids removed as this child has been on a doctor's priority waiting list for over four months.

The admission of a patient to hospital for treatment is a matter, in the first instance, for the medical decision of the consultant concerned.

In this case, I am informed that the patient has been placed by his consultant on the emergency waiting list, and the hospital expects that he will be called during the month of May or early in June for his operation.
