Vol. 408 No. 2

Written Answers - Lismore (County Waterford) School.

Austin Deasy

Question:

78 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if she will increase the grant allocation to Lismore CBS primary school, County Waterford, in respect of the replacement of windows and doors, to the maximum grant allowed, in view of the fact that the area is extremely disadvantaged and the balance of money for the cost of works carried out cannot be raised locally; and if she will also consider allocating a painting grant for the exterior doors and repainting of window areas.

John Fahey

Question:

129 Mr. J. Fahey asked the Minister for Education the amount of money allocated in respect of works at Lismore CBS primary school, County Waterford; and if she will consider an increased allocation.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 78 and 129 together.

Following representations by the school management, my Department have agreed to the payment of a grant of 85 per cent of the cost of the replacement of windows and doors at Lismore CBS national school.

Routine painting and decoration are not eligible for capital grant aid.
