33 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for the Marine the number of fish culture licences which have been granted since 1987; and the number of these which have been granted under (1) section 15 of the Fisheries Act, 1959 and (2) section 54 of the Fisheries Act, 1980.

Since 1987 a total of 100 licences have been issued by my Department in respect of aquaculture projects under the Fisheries Acts. Of this figure 52 licences were issued under the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959, and 48 were issued under the Fisheries Act, 1980.
