127 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice if a Gaeltacht allowance is payable to gardaí serving in Belmullet, County Mayo; if such allowances are paid in other garda stations in Gaeltacht areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
A Gaeltacht allowance is not payable to gardaí stationed in Belmullet, County Mayo. Such an allowance is paid to gardaí assigned to certain stations in Gaeltacht areas in accordance with the criteria set out in the reply to Question No. 792 on 11 December 1984 (volume 354, column 2143).
