139 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment if grants paid to a company (details supplied) in County Cork have now been returned in view of the fact that the company are ceasing operations.

140 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment whether, arising from Parliamentary Question No. 76 of 18 April 1991 regarding the number of grants allocated to firms in 1990 for waste recycling, the companies involved are now still in operation; if not, the companies which have closed; and whether grant funds have been returned to the Department

I propose to take Questions Nos. 139 and 140 together.

My Department are aware of only one company, that referred to in Question No. 139, which were approved for grant assistance in 1990 and which have since ceased operations. The company in question have initiated a process of voluntary winding up under the Companies Act, 1963, and my Department are a party to this process.
