Vol. 408 No. 7

Written Answers. - Safety Audit Study.

Bernard Allen

Question:

155 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on a recent study carried out by consulting engineers which showed that there are 770 potential hazards at 12 Eastern Health Board premises; and if the Eastern Health Board has been in contact with his Department on the matter.

I have been advised by the Eastern Health Board that a firm of consulting engineers was retained to assist the board in conducting a safety audit. This is an important step in the preparation of a safety statement to address workplace hazards as required by the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act.
