Vol. 408 No. 7

Written Answers. - Admission of Child to Hospital.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

160 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health when a six year old child (details supplied) will be admitted to Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin as he has been waiting for two years for an ear operation.

The parents of the child in question have been issued with an appointment for the child's admission to hospital for 26 June 1991. The Deputy will appreciate that admission to hospital is a matter for the consultant concerned and every patient is assessed to determine their medical priority.

Should the parents be concerned about the child's condition, they should contact their family doctor who would be in the best position to emphasise the urgency of the case to the consultant concerned.
