Question:

180 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if she will outline her plans to deal with the chronic shortage of library places in our regional technical colleges; if she will further outline the expected improvements in each college in September 1991; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

As the Deputy will be aware in March of this year I announced details of the capital programme for third level colleges involving an investment of over £75 million over the period 1990 to 1993. EC funding is being provided for the programme under the Government's national development plan.

The programme includes measures to enhance facilities at the regional technical colleges. The following projects are being funded from the programme:
