Written Answers. - Care Groups' Debts.

Question:

70 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health if he is concerned that the East Wall Day Care Centre and the North Wall St. Laurence O'Toole's Home Care Committee are respectively £5,000 and £9,000 in debt due to the failure of his Department to honour commitments based on budget allocations; if he will expedite these payments and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Responsibility for funding these committees is a matter for the Eastern Health Board, in accordance with section 65 of the Health Act, 1953. I understand from the Eastern Health Board that they will honour all their commitments in relation to grants to both groups.
