Vol. 409 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dublin City Development Plan.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

203 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment if, further to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 53 of 7 May 1991, his attention has been drawn to the fact that Dublin City Council agreed at their meeting on 6 May 1991 to seek a further extension of the deadline beyond 30 June 1991 for the review of their development plan; if he will confirm that he has received a letter from Dublin Corporation dated 7 May 1991 seeking such a further extension; whether he will accede to the request of the city council; and, if so, the new date that he has set for the completion of the development plan.

I confirm that I have received a letter dated 7 May 1991 from Dublin Corporation seeking an extension of time to 31 December 1991 to complete the review of the Dublin City Development plan 1980. I intend to grant this extension but, as the review of the development plan is now over five years behind schedule, I will be asking the corporation to ensure that the new deadline will be met.
