Vol. 409 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Transfer.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

220 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Health if he will agree to the request from the sister of a patient currently in long-stay care in Leopardstown Hospital (details supplied) that her sister be moved to a more convenient hospital closer to her as she is 68 years of age and is finding it more and more difficult to keep up her weekly visits as her husband has recently suffered a heart attack.

I have asked St. James's Hospital and the Eastern Health Board to examine the case referred to by the Deputy to see if a bed in a more convenient hospital can be arranged.
