Vol. 409 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Cork Monument.

Paul Bradford

Question:

75 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Finance if he will instruct the Office of Public Works to issue a preservation order in respect of property (details supplied) in County Cork.

It is intended to register this property as a historic monument under the National Monuments Acts. The Deputy is, I assume, concerned about possible damage to the monument from proposed quarrying activities nearby and I should say that the planning Acts, rather than the national monuments Acts, are the appropriate means of dealing with this matter.
