69 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the advances which have been made since her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 15 on 4 December 1990 in changing the design of school furniture so as to prevent backache in future.

My Department have not received any complaints about school furniture of the nature referred to by the Deputy since I replied to his parliamentary question on 4 December 1990. I can assure the Deputy that the normal practices to which I referred in my earlier reply are continuing to operate.
