Vol. 409 No. 9

Written Answers. - Kilkenny Schools.

Liam Aylward

Question:

134 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education if she will arrange to have sketch plans for planning permission purposes made available immediately for the provision of an extension to a national school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The preparation of the sketch plans for the proposed extension to the national school in County Kilkenny referred to by the Deputy is in hands and will be completed at the earliest possible date.

The plans will then be sent to the school authorities to enable them to seek local authority planning permission. In view of the Deputy's interest, I will keep him informed of developments.

Question:

135 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education when approval will be granted for the provision of a new school at Clogh, County Kilkenny, which is urgently required; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have approved the provision of a new national school at Clogh, County Kilkenny. Confirmation of the title of the school site was confirmed on 4 March 1991.

The preparation of sketch plans for the project are well advanced and these will be completed at the earliest possible date, when they will be sent to the school authorities to enable them to seek local authority planning permission.
