Vol. 409 No. 9

Written Answers. - TV3 Transmission.

Joe Sherlock

Question:

32 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if he has had any discussions with the promoters of the proposed TV3; if he has been provided with any information as to when the station is likely to commence transmissions; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have had a number of courtesy meetings with representatives of the proposed service who were anxious to inform me of progress with their plans. However, the matter of the establishment of the station, commencement of transmissions and so on, is entirely one between the promoters of the service and the Independent Radio and Television Commission with whom they are in negotiation on the finalisation of a contract.
