50 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Finance when an application for a VAT refund was received from a person (details supplied) in County Cork; when the person can expect to receive this refund; and the reasons for the delay in payment.
I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the VAT refund application was received on 20 February 1991. The claim has been approved for payment and a cheque, in full settlement, will issue shortly. This was the second claim received from the unregistered person within three months and some documentation overlapped with the first claim. This entailed more detailed checking than usual and caused a delay in payment.
