Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

63 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present position regarding the application for a farm improvement grant of a person (details supplied) in County Louth in respect of assistance to carry out fencing and ancillary works; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The processing of applications in regard to farm improvements under the scheme of grant aid for investments in alternative enterprises has been held up due to difficulties in the local farm development offices. It is hoped to have these difficulties resolved shortly following which the applicants will be dealt with as quickly as possible.

Frank Crowley

Question:

64 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a cattle headage grant and TB reactor grant payments will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and the reason for the delay.

Payment to this applicant under the 1990 cattle and equines headage scheme will issue shortly.

The delay in this case was caused by a problem concerning registration of the applicant's herdnumber.
The TB reactor grant due to the person named issued in August 1990 but was recently stated not to be received by the herdowner. The matter is being investigated. Payment of the reactor grant will be considered as soon as the investigation is completed.

Frank Crowley

Question:

65 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when cattle headage grant payments will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

This applicant's payment under the 1989 calf premium scheme is being processed and will issue shortly. Payment was delayed due to a query on his application. His application for grants under the 1990 EC suckler cow scheme for small scale milk producers is being processed and if found in order payment will issue when payments under that scheme commence in July. He did not apply under any other 1989 or 1990 cattle scheme.

Charles Flanagan

66 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a TB reactor grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

The ractor grant due to the person named will be paid within the next few weeks.

Michael Moynihan

Question:

67 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give details of the amount of grant aid which will be paid to each farmer in respect of the purchase of new refrigerated units; and the possible date when payments can be made.

The details of the assistance to farmers for expenditure on milk quality measures which I obtained during the recent EC prices negotiations are being finalised with the EC Commission at present.

I will make an announcement on the matter as soon as possible.
