Vol. 409 No. 9

Written Answers. - Land Reclassification.

John Connor

Question:

74 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he intends to reclassify all areas of farmland in County Roscommon which are not at present qualified for livestock headage payments under EC Regulation 765/78 so that such areas qualify for headage payments in 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

All areas in County Roscommon already qualify for various livestock headage payments and the question of reclassification to increase further the coverage of the cattle headage grants in part of the county is being discussed at present between my Department and the EC Commission. The discussions are confidential and I can say no more concerning the matter at this stage.
