Vol. 409 No. 9

Written Answers. - Dublin Hospital Food Examination.

Bernard Allen

Question:

116 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to a recent report on a one month examination of cooked/chilled meals prepared in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, which found that recommended bacterial contamination limits were exceeded during the first two weeks of the study; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The report to which the Deputy refers identified some minor problems with temperature control of food, during the initial two weeks of the new cook/chill system in 1989. These problems were quickly rectified.
