Vol. 410 No. 7

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to the Ceann Comhairle under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Nuala Fennell — in view of the expressed concern of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre that severe underfunding will lead to the closure of the centre in three months' time and in view of the increased number of rape cases going through the courts, if the Minister for Health will make a statement on his intentions in this matter. (2) Deputy Pat McCartan — the reports of the Irish Council of Civil Liberties and Amnesty International concerning the Sallins mail train robbery case and the need for the Government to fully inquire into the police investigations of that case. (3) Deputy Paddy Harte — arising out of an accident in County Donegal on 7 July 1991, when a family was held at gunpoint by an armed gang, if the Government will give an undertaking before the Dáil adjourns for the summer recess to provide additional Garda and military personnel in all Border areas.

The Ceann Comhairle has selected for discussion the matters raised by the following Deputies: (1) Deputy Paddy Harte. (2) Deputy Nuala Fennell.
