Question:381 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the progress he has made towards providing a proper Garda headquarters at Castlebar, County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is proposed to build a major extension to the Garda station in Castlebar to provide the gardaí there with the accommodation and facilities necessary in a modern divisional headquarters. As I indicated in my reply to the Deputy's question on 21 May 1991, No. 125, it is not possible to indicate, at this stage, when work on the project will commence, but there will be no avoidable delay.
