387 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline (a) the number and (b) the areas where deployed, of retired gardaí and retired members of the Defence Forces, in receipt of full State pensions currently employed in his Department in the following categories: (1) messengers, (2) services attendants and (3) court ushers.

Personnel records in my Department are not maintained in such a way as to identify messengers, services attendants or court ushers who may be in receipt of full State pensions in respect of service in the Garda Síochána or the Defence Forces. As abatement of pension does not apply in such cases, it is not necessary to maintain records in this way.
