I propose to take Questions Nos. 420-422, 424, 425, 427-436, 440, 441, 444, 446, 454, 456-462, 469, 470, 473, 477, 478, 481, 489, 492-496 together.

Schedules listing the grants allocated for amenities and recreational facilities for the period 1987/1988 and for each of the years 1990 and 1991 are available in the Oireachtas library. There was no grant scheme in 1989.

The allocations have been grouped by reference to the local authorities which recommended the projects and totals are provided for each authority. Details of the allocations on a constituency basis are not available in my Department.

Over 3,600 projects had been recommended by the local authorities to my Department under the 1991 scheme and allocations were made to 982 of these. I am not aware of any project sponsors who have been unable to avail of their grant under this scheme.

The allocations have been notified to the relevant local authorities whose function it is to advise the individual sponsors of the outcome of their applications. Because of the limited funds available, it was not possible to allocate grants to the remaining projects. In the event of a similar scheme being introduced in the future, it would, of course, be open to sponsors of projects which did not receive an allocation under the present scheme to submit a fresh application for a grant.
