Question:567 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Health the number of personnel employed in the health services at (1) 31 December 1988, (2) 31 December 1989, (3) 31 December 1990 and (4) 30 June 1991.
The number of staff employed in the health services, recorded in the Health Services Personnel Census at 31 December 1988, 1989 and 1990, expressed in wholetime equivalence is as follows: 31-12-1988, 56,357; 31-12-1989, 58,438; 31-12-1990, 59,850.
As the Health Services Personnel Census is taken at 31 December each year comparable information is not available for 30 June 1991.
