Question:628 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Education when sanction will be given by her Department for the building of a second level school for Gorey, County Wexford; and when work will commence on this project.

The tenders received for the Gorey community school project have been examined by my Department's design team, which have been requested to prepare their report.
Pending receipt of the design team's report and recommendations on the tenders, I am not in a position to say when the placing of a contract will be authorised.
I recently had a meeting with members of the Gorey Town Commission and explained the up-to-date position regarding the proposed project.
