669 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if she will list the second level fee paying schools in the State where her Department are paying teachers' salaries; and in the case of each school, if she will outline (a) the number of teachers whose salaries are being paid, (b) the total annual cost in the case of each school and (c) whether it is a boarding school.
A list of the fee-paying secondary schools in which my Department pays teachers' salaries follows. Boarding schools are indicated on this list.
It would not be in accordance with normal practice to disclose the details sought by the Deputy in relation to individual schools. The total cost of teachers' remuneration in the schools in question for the school year 1990-91 was approximately £23 million.
