Question:

689 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education if the report requested by her in relation to the accommodation requirements of a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny is yet available; and if so, when sanction will be forthcoming for the provision of a new school in this area.

The report in relation to accommodation at the school in County Kilkenny referred to by the Deputy has been received and is being examined. My Department will communicate with the school authorities on the matter at the earliest possible date. In view of the Deputy's interest I will communicate with him as well at that point.

690 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education the progress which is being made in relation to a national school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

On 8 April 1991 sketch plans for the proposed new national school in County Kilkenny referred to by the Deputy were sent to the chairman of the school's board of management to enable him to seek planning permission from the local authority. My Department are awaiting submission of planning permission for the project.
