I propose to take Questions Nos. 153, 154, 155 together.

Agreement has already been reached with the Governments concerned for the establishment of diplomatic relations and arrangements are proceeding in relation to the accreditation of ambassadors.

As I announced during my recent visit to the area, the Irish Ambassador in Warsaw is to be accredited to Lithuania and Latvia and the Ambassador in Stockholm is to be accredited to Estonia.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 156, 157 and 158 together.

An agreement on the development of Economic, Industrial, Scientific and Technological Co-operation was entered into on 21 September 1977 between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the Polish People's Republic by means of an exchange of notes between the two Governments. The text of the agreement was presented to the Dáil as No. 17 of the Treaty Series for 1977.

This agreement commits the parties to facilitate and encourage economic, industrial, agricultural, scientific and technological co-operation between interested organisations, enterprises and firms in their respective countries. It provides for the convening of a joint commission to meet annually to consider means of advancing co-operation in various economic sectors of mutual interest, and regular meetings of this joint commission have taken place since 1977.

An agreement for the mutual abolition of visas was entered into on 12 April 1991 between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, by means of an exchange of notes between the two Governments. The text of the agreement has been presented to Dáil Éireann as No. 11 of Treaty Series, 1991.
