193 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline (a) the number and (b) areas deployed, of full-time non-clerical Civil Service positions in his Department, previously held by the categories listed following that have been replaced by private contractors in the last five years: (1) messengers and nightwatchmen, (2) messengers, (3) van drivers and (4) cleaners.

Office of Public Works: Cleaners (a) eight; (b) 52 St. Stephen's Green. (a) two; (b) Central Engineering Workshops, Inchicore. (a) three; (b) Government Supplies Agency. (a) one; (b) Furniture Branch, Rialto. (a) one; (b) Ely Place.

Revenue: Cleaners (a) two; (b) Cork.
