Vol. 411 No. 2

Written Answers. - Attacks on Louth School Children.

Michael Bell

Question:

53 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to any legal proceedings which have been initiated by the Garda Síochána in relation to indecent assaults on school children in a school (details supplied) in County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is the practice of Ministers for Justice not to make statements to the House in relation to specific Garda investigations unless there are circumstances which are deemed to be sufficiently exceptional to warrant a departure from this practice. I do not consider that such a departure is warranted in the case in question.
