Question:143 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí stationed in County Carlow in (a) 1981 and (b) 1991.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the number of members of the Garda Síochána assigned to stations in County Carlow on 30 September in each of the years 1981 and 1991 was 51 and 56 respectively.
