Vol. 411 No. 6

Written Answers. - Bennettsbridge (County Kilkenny) School.

Liam Aylward

Question:

124 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the difficulties which have arisen regarding the completion of Bennettsbridge national school in County Kilkenny, she will outline when another contractor will be appointed to complete this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I fully appreciate the difficulties which have arisen in relation to the Bennettsbridge national school, County Kilkenny building project.

The receiver has indicated (22/10/91) that the company is not in a position to complete the contract. The Department will now instruct their supervising architect to prepare a specification of the works to be completed and invite quotations from approved builders. We would proceed to the placing of a new contract with all due expedition.

I am very much aware of the Deputy's interest in the case and will keep him informed of developments.
