Question:147 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the future plans for Garda manning levels at Youghal Garda station, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Garda manpower allocation at Youghal Garda station has been increased by two gardaí since August of this year — bringing the total to 18 gardaí and two sergeants. In the context of the community policing initiative for rural areas, a clerical assistant will be assigned as soon as possible to Youghal Garda station which is one of the new area headquarters stations in the Midleton Garda district.
