Vol. 411 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Donegal School Extension.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

59 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application from St. Columba's secondary school, Stranorlar, County Donegal, concerning a proposed extension to the school; when the application was received; and if she intends grant-aiding the extension.

In May 1991, I sanctioned the provision of six prefabricated classrooms at St. Columba's College, Stranorlar. This I know has done a great deal to alleviate their accommodation problems for the current school year. However, in July 1991 a further application was received from the school for the provision of extra permanent accommodation. A Department inspector visited the school at my request in September 1991 and his report on the accommodation requirements of the school is currently under examination. I am therefore not in a position yet to say what will be decided in the matter.
