Vol. 411 No. 8

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Bernard Allen — the sale of 140 acres of prime land at Clogheen, Cork, in 1988 by the Southern Health Board; (2) Deputy Dan Wallace — the steps that are being taken by the Garda in Cork to alleviate the problem of vandalism and intimidation being experienced by the residents in the north side of the city; (3) Deputy Éamon Gilmore — the continuing refusal by the prison authorities to allow a prisoner at the Training Unit, Glengarriff Parade, Dublin, to attend an interview for a FÁS training course; (4) Deputy Pat Rabbitte —the urgent matter of the construction of the Tallaght regional hospital; (5) Deputy Eric Byrne — the present state of the Irish Rail rolling stock on the Galway-Dublin line; (6) Deputy Nuala Fennell — if the Minister for Health will indicate the action he is taking on the findings of the recent UCD Department of Public Health report, indicating a failure to follow up 50 per cent of positive cervical smear tests; (7) Deputy Bill Cotter — the condition of Ballymackney national school, Carrickmacross, and the need for a new school to replace the existing structure, and (8) Deputy Roger Garland — the continued failure by the Government to bring the proposed national park, County Wicklow, into operation with the consequent deterioration in the ecology of the area.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by the following Deputies: (1) Deputy Dan Wallace, (2) Deputy Bernard Allen and (3) Deputy Nuala Fennell.
