Séamus Pattison

Question:

29 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline the progress made to date in issuing working dress to members of the Reserve; the numbers issued as at 31 August 1991 by Command; the number to be issued to meet all anticipated requirements to 31 December 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As at 31 August 1991 issues of working dress to serving FCA personnel were as follows: Eastern Command, 2,693; Southern Command, 4,297; Western Command, 3,708; Curragh Command, 1,600.

It is anticipated that a further 1,100 issues of working dress will be made in the period to 31 December 1991 and that the issue of the new working dress to all FCA members will be completed by the end of the year.
