Question:

103 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the number of post-primary schools which do not provide any technical subject for (a) junior certificate and (b) leaving certificate.

The information required by the Deputy is given in the following tabular form.

*For the purposes of the reply, technical subjects are taken as: (i) woodwork, metalwork, mechanical drawing and technology on the new junior certificate programme; (ii) woodwork, metalwork and mechanical drawing at intermediate certificate; and (iii) engineering, technical drawing and construction studies at leaving certificate.
