Question:

169 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Defence if he will outline with regard to the FCÁ and Slua Muirí (1) the man-hours initially and finally allocated in 1989, 1990 and to 30 September 1991 by command and corps (2) the number of man-hours taken up in respect of annual training, special courses, including an indication of the nature of such courses, by command, corps and by officers, NCOs and private-seamen for the periods mentioned in 1 above (3) the number of man-days used in respect of the years 1989, 1990 and to 30 September 1991 by command (4) the initial allocation by command for annual training and special courses for 1992 and (5) the number of troops, by officers, NCOs and men-seamen who undertook annual training and special courses for the years (a) 1986 (b) 1987 (c) 1988 (d) 1989 (e) 1990 and (f) to 30 September 1991.

I propose to circulate in the Official Report a number of tabular statements setting out information sought by the Deputy. Further material is being compiled, in so far as records are available, and I will arrange to have it forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
