30 Mr. T. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications when the NESC consultant report on An Post, which he commissioned, will be available; if he will make it available to all members of the Oireachtas; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The consultants commissioned by me to study An Post's proposals for the closure of a number of sub-post offices and the provision of roadside letter boxes have already furnished a preliminary draft report to my Department. I expect that the final report will be available shortly. Copies of the report will be made available to the Oireachtas Library and the Joint Committee on Commercial State-Sponsored Bodies. Copies will also be made available to the leaders of the Opposition parties and to their spokes-persons on Communications matters. In addition, I will arrange to have the report placed on sale in the Government Publications Sale Office.
