Vol. 412 No. 1

Written Answers. - Waste Disposal Company.

Tony Gregory

Question:

100 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if any action can be taken against a waste disposal company (details supplied) for leaving fully laden refuse skips for days at a time on the public road causing obstructions, hazards and a general unsightliness and nuisance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Gardaí have cautioned the owner of the skips in question about leaving them abandoned on public roads and about his responsibilities in the matter under the Road Traffic Acts. As a result there has been a noticeable improvement in the situation. The matter is being kept under review by the gardaí and any offences detected will be dealt with appropriately.
