Vol. 412 No. 1

Written Answers. - Home Ownership Scheme.

Dermot Fitzpatrick

Question:

110 Dr. Fitzpatrick asked the Minister for the Environment his views on whether the shared ownership scheme for buying houses should be amended so that tenants living in houses that they wish to buy need not have a hot water system, a shower, a bath or an indoor toilet in the house which is otherwise structurally sound; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Existing dwellings which a local authority agrees to purchase with a view to shared ownership must have hot and cold water systems, a fixed shower or bath and an indoor toilet and it is not proposed to change that requirement.
