Vol. 412 No. 2

Written Answers. - Animal Remedies Act, 1956.

Austin Deasy

Question:

78 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he intends to amend the Animal Remedies Act, 1956; if so, when such amended legislation will be introduced; and if he proposes to exempt certain companies under the Animal Remedies (Prohibition on Certain Sales) Regulations, 1991.

A draft Bill to amend the Animal Remedies Act, 1956, is under preparation and will be introduced in the near future. There are no proposals to exempt any company or individual from the provisions of the Animal Remedies (Prohibition of Certain Sales) Regulations, 1991. The regulations provide for the conduct of limited activities under licence.
