Question:92 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received representations for the Garda Síochána and others to update the law and regulations in relation to hackney carriages and their licensing; if in view of the reemergence of these carriages in Dublin he will address the need to update the law as a matter of urgency; whether such a review and update will be included in any imminent forthcoming legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
