147 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if he will request the gardaí to investigate allegations that illegal full payouts are made on poker machines at an amusement arcade (details supplied) Dublin 2; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
As I informed the Deputy in reply to his question of 12 March 1991 — Official Report, Volume 406, column 604 — it is not the practice of Ministers for Justice to disclose whether the gardaí are carrying out an investigation into a particular individual or establishment, unless there are exceptional circumstances which warrant such a course.
If the Deputy has information to the effect that breaches of the law are taking place in a particular establishment, he should report the matter to the gardaí.
