Vol. 412 No. 5

Written Answers. - Alternative Medicine.

Michael Creed

Question:

179 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the role he envisages, if any, for alternative medicine in the general hospital/community care system.

A basic tenet of the public health services in Ireland is that care is provided by appropriately qualified health professionals and that the level and type of care provided has regard to patient need and the views of the medical and other health professionals on the appropriateness of various treatments.
