Question:

182 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the total number of babies born to mothers who were not married at the time of birth, indicating the classification by age of mothers in respect of the years (1) 1975, (2) 1980, (3) 1985 and (4) 1990.

The information requested by the Deputy is routinely published in the annual reports on vital statistics compiled by the Central Statistics Office. The data is set out in the table below.
