Vol. 412 No. 5

Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 30.

Before proceeding to the Order of Business proper I have had a request from Deputy John Bruton under Standing Order 30 to move the adournment of the Dáil. I now call on Deputy John Bruton to state the matter of which he has given notice.

I have not got that matter with me, Sir.

Does the Deputy wish that I read it out? Deputy Bruton was seeking leave under Standing Order 30 that the Dáil be adjourned to discuss the urgent and important matter of alleged interference with telephones of Members of Dáil Éireann and the serious consequences arising therefrom.

I have considered the matter and I do not think it one contemplated by Standing Order 30. Therefore I am not granting leave to move this motion.
