Question:213 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications the up-to-date position in relation to funding of the proposed airport at Letterkenny, County Donegal.

My Department have had a series of meetings with Letterkenny Airport Committee over the past year concerning the feasibility of providing an airport facility at Letterkenny.
On 11 September last the assistant county secretary provided details of projected passenger numbers and revenues based on aircraft up to 50 seats.
This data is currently being assessed by my Department.
The question of funding will be addressed in the context of the submission to Government in this matter.
